MaDoMa trio will be the first group of musicians to perform in Thunder Bay’s newest chamber music recital series. The “Gallery Concert” series will be held at Lake Superior Art Gallery; located in Victoriaville Mall. The first recital will begin at 8:00 pm, Thursday September 12th /13.
“The Gallery Concert series will create new opportunities for musicians to perform”, says Artistic Director Bert Rowson. We will do our best to create a recital series that includes music for different combination of instruments, music from different styles and times.
During an evening of light classics you will enjoy old favourites and be introduced to lovely less familiar pieces by beloved composers. Experience Mozart’s Eine Kleinie Nachtmusik and music from Bizet’s Carmen along with works by Haydn, Debussy and others. Let the music transport you – expect beauty, relaxation and excitement!
Not only the music is suited for a late summer evening out, there will be finger food and a wine bar open before the concert and during the intermission. You can use this as an opportunity to view some of the art displayed in the gallery or to visit with friends.
There are advantages to purchasing your tickets on-line. An on-line purchase will qualify you to win one of three great prizes including a women’s handbag worth over $100.
While this is the first concert it is not the last. On Thursday October 10th “Women in Black” will be in recital at Lake Superior Art Gallery, In November the concerts switch from Thursday evenings to Sunday afternoon concerts starting at 2:30 pm. The Sunday November 3rd recital will present Joseph Roy; a local guitar virtuoso with Doris Dungan on flute will provide a rare recital for this combination of instruments.
