DULUTH MN --- November 29, 2015 --- Tall Ships are coming to Duluth August 18-21, 2016 tickets now available: The s Tall Ships festival returns to Duluth next year – August 18-21, 2016 – and tickets for the event went on sale at the stroke of midnight t
More than 250,000 people attended the last festival, in 2013.
Ticket options include single- and multi-day passes, day sail packages and, for those who’d like to skip the lines, fast passes.
Nine ships are already invited to attend the festival, including the Viking ship Draken Harald Hårfagre, the Spanish El Galeón and General George Patton’s When and If.

Festival gates open at noon on the 18th and the Parade of Sail should happen around 2 p.m. The start time is subject to the ships individual travel speeds. Opening ceremonies start at 4 p.m., dockside on Harbor Drive behind the DECC. The festival continues through Aug. 21.

There’ll be more than ships to see at this time around, too. Tall Ships has teamed up with Art in Bayfront Park, an annual fair featuring more than 150 artists, to offer “an event within an event,” says Craig Samborski, the festival’s executive producer. The Duluth Depot is also selling discounted bundles of Tall Ships and museum tickets.
