A town of 1,300 people hosts the Iola Car Show and Swap Meet the 2nd weekend of July. This event draws in over 115,000 spectators and 2,500 show cars, and boasts 4,000 swap spaces, 1,600 camp sites and 1,000 car corral spaces. From young to old, all walks of life enjoy one of America’s largest auto events. The Iola Car Show began with a simple invite form Chet Krause, asking his car friends to join him to show off their old cars and enjoy a pork dinner. From here, it grew. From a few cars at a local park to 300+ acres, generations of families have been raised on our grounds. 2020 was devastating to the entertainment industry as a whole, and Iola took a major hit. As a non-profit, the Iola Car Show has given back more than $8.4 million to over 130 civic organizations since it’s incorporation. These organizations depend on the car show to fund their projects, events, and scholarships. Although some safe opportunities were provided to a few organizations, many of them went without any funding this past year, as the Iola Car Show is their only source. 2021 is a new year and the Iola Car Show is ready. This year, the show is on! It might have a few modifications from previous years, but Iola, WI is the place to be for auto enthusiasts come July 8th – 10th. Announcing the show will go in January, the car show is setting the stage for in-person events in Wisconsin this year. Definitive COVID requirements will not be available until closer to the show, but the staff is planning the show as they have in years past. The phones are ringing, emails are coming in and social media is buzzing with the anticipation of this great show. #LSN_CircleTour #LSN_WiscNews Next Article CBP Issues Memorial Day Holiday Weekend Travel Advisory Print Rate this article: No rating Tags: Wisconsin Iota Car Show Iota Wisconsin Please login or register to post comments.
